Privacy Policy
Effective 3 August 2026
Learn First Australia ("we", "us", "our") is a course-matching and referral service that connects prospective students with accredited Australian registered training organisations (RTOs). This website and service are operated by Learn First Australia Pty Ltd. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
What we collect
- Contact details you give us: name, email address, mobile number.
- Your course and career interests, and information relevant to checking your eligibility for training and government-subsidised places (for example your state or territory, residency status, and prior qualifications, where you provide them).
- Technical information collected automatically when you use our website, such as device type, pages visited and interactions, including via cookies and advertising pixels (see Cookies and advertising below).
How we use your information
- To match you with an accredited RTO that delivers the training you are looking for.
- To check government funding and subsidy options you may be eligible for.
- To contact you about your enquiry by phone, SMS or email, including automated messages.
- To operate and improve our website and services.
- With your consent, to send you information about courses and offers. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link or by replying STOP to an SMS.
Who we share it with
We share your details with the accredited RTO we match you to, so they can contact you about enrolment - and we tell you which RTO that is as part of the matching process. We never sell your personal information. We may also share information with service providers who help us operate (such as our customer relationship, messaging and analytics platforms), and where required by law.
Overseas disclosure
Some of the platforms we use to store and process information are hosted overseas (including in the United States). Where information is handled overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is treated consistently with the APPs.
Cookies and advertising
We use cookies and advertising pixels (including Meta) to measure our advertising and improve the website. You can control cookies through your browser settings. Ad platforms may use this data as described in their own privacy policies.
Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls and reputable third-party platforms. We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law.
Access, correction and complaints
You can request access to or correction of your personal information, or make a privacy complaint, by contacting us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
Marketing, the Spam Act and the Do Not Call Register
We only send marketing messages with your consent, every message identifies us, and every message includes a working opt-out (unsubscribe link, or reply STOP to SMS). We keep records of consent. Phone contact relates to enquiries you have made; we check numbers against the Do Not Call Register where required and do not cold-call. Opting out stops marketing but does not stop service messages about an active enquiry unless you ask us to close it.
Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be published on this page with its effective date.
